Honeywell - Heat OK, A/C not
    Hello all,

I replaced my original digital thermostat with a Honeywell CT3200 programmable thermostat today. The heat settings work great and the unit turns on and off when it should; but when testing the air conditioning no luck. The thermostat says the system is on when cooling but the outside unit never starts (even after waiting 5-10mins). If I touch the orange (yellow) wire to the red feed wire the outside AC unit starts up right away. I took back a Noma unit earlier today thinking it was bad because it was doing the same thing.

I have also hooked back up the original unit and the cooling works as expected.

    Themostat: Honeywell CT3200A
    A/C make: Ducane AC13B18P-1A

    Any suggestions?

I believe I have fixed it by removing the Rc (black) wire and jumpering the screw with R (red). I'm not sure why the Rc (black) wire wasn't giving any juice for cooling. Something tells me that the old unit was drawing its Rc from the R as well. (nothing in the docs for the old unit point to this)

I currently have the Rc wire taped up in the wall.

I have read about this solution elseware on the net with the CT3200. Anyone who thinks this is a big no-no, please let me know.
