    Bottled water
Am I the only one who still chooses tap water over bottled water?
Not that I won't drink a bottled water, it's just I don't like paying a soda price for a bottled water, tap water to me taste just as good.

And hold on to your hats health nuts --- I don't have a house filter either... nope, comes straight from my towns 70 year old water pipes. But it gets its water from the cool clean Gatewood resevior, all spring fed.

NO your not the only one, I also choose tap water over bottled.

I am in the uk, the price of bottled water is way over the limit, I just think tap water is as good and the bottled is a big con.

However I do use a brita filter when I'm at home.

The most popular seller is EVIAN.. when spelt backwards reads... NAIVE which I think says it all.

All those plastic bottles mess up the environment too.

Consumer Reports or some such had done a study and found that bottled water is a rip-off. Most of it is tap water or at least no better than.

    Yay tap water!

Well, I always drank tap water just as a money saving measure, not to mention it keeps my trash cans emptier. I normally carry a container of water with me at work as opposed to soda or tea. If I run out of water before I run out of day, most restaurants will refill the container for free. Between that and my pb&j sandwhices, my lunch fund only runs around $15 per month.

Call your water company and ask for a list of what is in the water.
I never trusted tap water then my son got the list from our water company. If I want water I buy the 2.5 gallon bottle. Mostly I drink fruit juice now since I kicked my Pepsi addiction.

Much of the bottled water is tap water ran through a filter and does have to meet certain specifications.

I have one of those brita water pictures. I got mine from Target.

Brita Water Filters / Dispensers / Faucet Filters: You Can Be Drinking Pure Water

I love it because I can just use tap water, I don't have a bunch of bottles in the garbage and because it's super easy to change the filter when it's time.

In many places, the tap water is better than bottled. It contains nutrients that bottled water doesn't.

As others said, it's also better for the environment.

In my area, especially in the springtime when field planting is done, the tap water is icky.

I reuse plastic bottles over and over... I have a good house filter for the drinking taps... and then recycle them after a few weeks use... or I use plastic water bottles that can be run through the dishwasher. Or use metal containers made for drinking water.

Depends what tap or what kind of water it is that determins weather or not I like the tap water, also in many of the places I've visited abroad they tell you it's a bad idea to drink the tap water so you don't really have a choice there, but bottled water is great for taking with you to the gym or on a day out anywhere so what I'm saying is I like both :D

I prefer tap water because it has fluoride in it... and I actually prefer the taste of tap water over bottled.
I will buy bottled if I am out but I certainly don't buy it for home.

When we bought our house it came with a water filter with a separate tap in our kitchen... it barely gets used.

Fluoride is really really bad for you. It weakens bones in the long run. Fluoride one of the basic ingredients in Prozac (FLUoxetene Hydrochloride) and Sarin Nerve Gas (Isopropyl-Methyl-Phosphoryl FLUORIDE)

Fluoride in large doses is harmful. That's why you must spit out your toothpaste (read the box). It's also recommended that small children use a non-fluoride toothpaste because they don't know how to spit.

That being said, the amount in tap water is so minimal that you're not going to be poisoned from drinking it. The benefits outweigh the risks.

I have a filter on my fridge so I drink the filtered tap water. I do buy cases [generic or whatever brand is on sale] of bottled water for convenience (to take to work, car, etc.) but at home I drink the water out of my faucet. I have nothing against tap water, it's just that sometimes in certain areas or if a place has old plumbing, it tastes like dirt.

But andrew you make a good point: I'm not paying for bottled water out of a soda machine either!

    Alcohol is poison too!!

I drink tap water, but it is better after it sits in the fridge for a while. I have no need for bottled water, vitamin water or any other of those little scams.

Hehe, and Lawrd knows nobody has stopped drinking 'cohol :p

Funny, my mom likes to let water sit in the fridge too. I like mine fresh; after it sits a while, it tastes... "stale". And here I was all this time thinking she was odd... go figure.

I use a water filter and if I am going out for a run or something I just use a metal water bottle.

NK people think that vitamin water works miracles. A lady I work with swears that she fells completely different after drinking one. I think she just convinces herself it does something. I drink one once in a while they taste pretty good but I don't think I am actually getting any vitamins from it.

I feel better after I drink really good mineralized water but I really never buy it because I can't afford it. Plus I hate drinking water at all.
I do believe the bottled water that the majority of people drink is a scam.

I've had the vitaminey-enriched waters and sure, they taste good but like you, I don't think I necessarily felt different or better for having drank it.

I have a couple metal water bottles, and they made my water taste funny so I don't use them anymore.
