    New panel located near a home gas manifold?
    Hey guys I was wondering if anybody knew if it was OK for a new sub panel to be mounted on the same wall and within proximity to a gas manifold. I have the mandated working clearance (30") from the panel to the manifold just can't find anything saying if its OK or notto be that close to gas? Thanks for the help

    As long as you have the required clearance (which you say you do), you are fine.

    Thanks Stan, yeah I've got about 4 feet to the manifold from the panel location just was a little worried about the gas. Do you know if there is any type of material, substance, gas or water fitting, etc... that can in no way be near a panel even if it complies with the working clearances set in 110.26? I feel like anything goes as long as its outside the protected work area just not sure.

    About the only thing I would think applies is:

    240.24(D) Not in Vicinity of Easily Ignitible Material. Overcurrent devices shall not be located in the vicinity of easily ignitible material, such as in clothes closets.

    Remember that the gas is inside the piping and we go to great lengths to keep it that way. So the gas meter and piping would not be considered "easily ignitable".
