Methadone withdrawal
I was diagnosed with RSD/CRPS Type I in 2005. I've been on several different medications, often at the same time. For the past two years, I've been on Methadone, switched from Ultram because I had developed an addiction. Last Monday, so, seven days ago, I ran out of Methadone and have been slowly detoxing since. I haven't been in as much pain as others, strangely. I suffered very uncomfortable cold sweats and shaking, tremors, loose bowel, sneezing, etc. What was most prominent were my cognitive withdrawal symptoms. I experienced massive anxiety attacks and panic attacks. I had all these negative thoughts and self-doubt that had nothing to do with me. Also, restlessness, sleepiness, aches and pains, but none of it was unbearable. It's been 7 days now and I was wondering how much longer before I can think clearly again and be able to be 100% free of Methadone. There was a problem with them refilling it and it's taking an awfully long time, but my injured leg doesn't really hurt. I still haven't had them refilled and it's been a week. I'm seriously considering being off them forever. How much longer is the withdrawal going to last? And any other information I should be made aware of, I'd appreciate. Thank you.

It depends how many milligrams of methadone you were on. It is not ideal to stop using methadone suddenly. Speak with your providing pharmacist or your treating doctor for further advice.
The symptoms you are experiencing are very typical of methadone withdrawal. You may also develop headaches.
