A snake bite recovery can take quite some time.

A few years back one of my mothers great danes was bitten on the face... it was the only thing that saved him, because the bite was on his face it paralysed him almost immediately and prevented the poison from speading too fast.

    To encourage his appetite try
    A) Heating up his food
    B) Mixing a little raw beef mince in with his regular food
    C) Soak his usual dry dog food in hot water (1 cup food to 1/2 cup water) for half an hour
    D) Raw sardines can be great, just mush a couple up in his food.

The best thing I have found is heating the food... it releases a lot more odor which the dog responds to.

You can also buy pastes from your vets or pet stores to mix in with the food the encourage appetite, they are 50/50 though, some dogs like them some don't.

I had a few dogs that have bitten by snakes. I always give them Carnations Evaporated Milk
    On their food. It works.

First answer: Do what the DR. told you to do.

Second: Hot chicken bullion over dry food. There's a reason all those stereotypes of grandmothers bring chicken soup... electrolytes.

Third: Do what the Dr. told you to do.
