    Understanding Depreciation
    Hi! Out there can anyone help me with my depreciation problem I've tried and tried but my working seems to come out wrong. Please show me how to calculate this properly. :confused:

    Kindly find attached depreciation schedule. I hope it can help you. Please note that I assumed in my calculation that the assets were acquired during the year 2009.

    Thank you! But how do I calculate the book value for the check printer after 10-years it depreciated.
    The monthly depreciation on the buildining purchased 1/3 =73.33
    The total depreciation for plant equipment for May. = a. 43.33, b. 43.75 c. 72.50 d.175.49
    The total depreciation for office equipment for May. = a.28.83 b. 44.66 c. 72.50 d 175.49
    The total depreciation expense for may. = a. 127.33 b. 170.66 c. 190.49 d. 205.49
    Please show me the calculation. Please.

    The book value for the check printer at the end of 10 years will be the same as the salvage value (150) (500 cost -350 total depreciation for 10 years).

    - The monthly depreciation of the building are included in the excel sheet (cell G:R 21)

    - Total depreciation is included in the excel sheet. And the calculations are there.

    I don't think your calculation is correct .
    Total depreciation for plant equipment on May
    A. 43.33 B. 43.75 C. 72.50 D. 175.49
    Total depreciation for office equipment for May
    A. 28.33 B. 44.66 C. 72.50 D. 175.49
    Total depreciation expense for May
    A. 172.33 B. 170.66 C. 190.49 D. 205.49

    Total depreciation for plant equipment on May is 72.5 but I did not sum them in the excel sheet if you sum the three items on May you will get 72.5
    Total depreciation for office equipment for May is 44.67 but you just sum them and you will fet this number.
    Total depreciation expense for May is 190.49 the total is on the buttom of the sheet
