Hvac not working after changing thermostat
A house I am purchasing had central AC working fine before. However, after the home inspector played around with the thermostat the system did not work.

I replaced the thermostat because the thermostat panel no longer lit up. I replaced it with a programmable thermostat, being careful to attach wires appropriately. However, the AC still does not work

Are you sure it was a t-stat probem? Sounds like it may have been a blow fuse at the furnace. What is happing now? And what wires did you hook where? Does the heat work?
