    Car Accident
My husband pulled out of our drive this morning to let my car out. He was parked correct in a legal place in front of our house. Before I could get in the car still parked in the driveway a car came around the corner, jumped a curve, crossed the street, jumped that curb and shot back across the street and hit the car my husband head on as he sat parked. A Hispanic male driving then acted as if he were going to leave. I ran to his car and after telling him about 8 times to turn the car off he finally did. He got out begging us not to call the police. We called the police. The man smelled of alcohol. The police arrived and the man did not have a license, had a drive out tag on the car and was not the owner of the car. He did not know if there was insurance on the car. The police ran the VIN and the car was insured. I was not able to get the insurance info because the man was arrested and the report is not ready. I tried to contact the police but have yet to get a response ( it is Saturday). If the man was not insured I could get a rental car from my company but because he was I have to go through their company. Finally my question is should I allow my company to repair the car or should the other company do the repairs. Should the other company pay for a rental car for me? Thanks C. Boswell

File a claim with your company. They can find out the insurance carrier for the other car and they will get reimbursment for what they pay out to you.

Let me see, no tag, not his car, no license, and you even "think" there is insurance on the car.

Of course you just turn it over to your company get your rental car and if, "if" there is insurance then they collect the money back from them.

Do you have Uninsured Motorist coverage on your policy? If so, if the car wasn't insured then your company will pick up the tab and it won't count against you.
