    Exterior garage lights
    "Hello,

I want to have 2 exterior garage lights controlled by the garage door opener(GDO)so that the exterior lights come on when the GDO light comes on. But, I would also want the same 2 exterior lights controlled by a wall switch independently from the GDO.

    Thanks"

What make and model number GDO do you have? Not even sure if this option is available in any GDO, but if there is an auxiliary output set of contacts from the built in light, then this will be easy.

If not, then you will need to modify the wiring inside the GDO. There will be a small really inside the GDO that controls the light. The relay contacts will most likely only be able to handle the load of that one lamp. It could also handle the coil of another relay to switch the exterior lights.

This is easy to understand for someone that knows what they are doing. How knowledgeable are you working with building wiring, relay controls, and working inside appliances? May be a minor project to get this done properly.

After a few rainfalls, I realised that water seeps into my aluminium clad garage from concrete paths on 3 sides and from a slight bank on one side. I've put drain-coil into the bank and dug a trench to below ground level on that side but the trench still tends to fill up. This side gets run-off...

Hampton Bay Exterior Motion Detect Lights... [ 1 Answers ]

This will be a dumb question, but our contractor put up two of the Hampton Bay Motion Detecting lights on our detached garage.
