What are the chances of having a fifth miscarriage?
My sister is currently 9 weeks 2 days pregnant. She has previously had 4 miscarriages. She has been given no medical reasons as to why she is experiencing this but she has a retroverted uterus. Her levels have gone from 87,000 ten days ago back down to 80,000 yesterday. Is this normal?? I would have thought that her levels should have tripled every three days. Does this mean that her levels will continue to decline and therefore end in yet another heart breaking miscarriage? She is 38 years old and time is running out. Please has anyone got any information to share.

I too, have a retroverted uterus. So does my mom and my daughter. All that has meant for us is that we do not show until 6+ months along.

However, I have had at least 10 miscarriages. Never knew why. Then I was diagnosed with MS. The doctor told me that MS and miscarriage tend to go hand-in-hand. That is probably not what is going on with your sister at all.

What does your sister's doctor have to say about her 4 miscarriages?

It may not necessarily end in a miscarriage as levels will often go down a bit and then hold steady around that time.
How far into her pregnancies were her previous miscarriages? Usually a tilted uterus won't be the cause of a miscarriage and most of the time it will correct itself as the pregnancy progresses. Do you know what types of things they have checked before? Possible infection, progesterone level, or a blood clotting issue for example?
If they weren't able to determine a specific reason after doing some of the standard checks, odds are the pregnancy will continue.
Given her history, I'm sure her doctor would be willing to do a scan for her to offer her some reassurance.
