    SRS laws
I am 6 weeks pregnant and am wanting to get SRS help because we are very poor. My problem is this, my boyfriend is a convicted felon, he's not a bad guy by any stretch of the imagination though. He has two felonies, one is for a drug related charge because his ex-girlfriend had an ounce of marijuana and he took the fall for it. This was back in 2000. So can we all get help? If I do apply for help will they at least give us help for the baby and me? Will the baby and I get reduced help because he is a felon? I want to do what is right for the baby but I honestly don't know how to fill out the paperwork that would benefit her. Please help!

Go to your local social services office. They will walk you through paperwork and tell you what you may or may not qualify for.

    Have you thought of adoption?

We've considered all the options. I just wanted clarification of what was possible before I went to the SRS office tomorrow. We won't be people who "live off the system". We just need help for a short period.

I do hope so, sadly I see the "system" often as a bottomless pit. The type of aid can vary by location ( state) and other issues.
You will just have to apply
