Cassini,
(Gen 1:26) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
(Gen 1:27) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
(Gen 2:7) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
I believe the bible teaches us here that God created (formed) man from the clay of the earth, much like a potter creates a vessel from clay, and breathed into man the breath of life so that we could become a living soul.
I do not believe this automatically entitles us to divinity....as the Biblical way to this right of passage is strictly through and by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Believing this, accepting Christ as our Savior, and confessing this with our mouth saves us.

It says the breath of life... not as Jesus blew on the disciples and said, "recieve the Holy Spirit" we did inherit life from Adam. "Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord."
The true life is in the blood of Jesus, called, "sinless blood" since the Father that begot Jesus is sinless as opposed to the "sinful blood" we all inherit that comes from having a human father. Jesus didn't just have "a spark of divinity" or carry divinity... He was and is divinity. Colossians says all the fullness of God dwelt(lived) clothed in the flesh of Jesus.

Agree that each man is just as God created at birth. And there is scripture witten which tells us each are holy at birth .
Luke 2:23 (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord)
However man is cursed by what Adam and Eve did in the garden. It is the curse cased by satan that brings darkness, and unrighteousness known as death.
Genesis 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life
As often as God tried to wash man clean, satan would do his evil again unto the world. After the flood of Noah, Canaan continued that cursed.
Genesis 9:25 And he said, Cursed [be] Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

Man and woman were created on the 6th day, and God was pleased.
God made Adam, which is another way in saying a man ( Adam means = red in hebrew languarge/flesh) after the seventh day of rest. The hertiage of Adam is not life but it is the curse because Adam fell subject to satan in his choice. Eve is call the mother of all living because by her womb , came the beginning birth in generations of birth leading to Christ. Satan would continue his attempt to beguile man through the generations of Christ hertiage to be King of Kings on earth.
It is clearly spoken in scripture that Christ was holy at birth (Luke 1:35), Chirst was begotten of God (John 1:18), and God trusted Christ. (Eph 1:12-13)
Christ conquered the curse, conquered death/satan, and washed us clean of sin by HIS blood... This can all be referenced in scripture. Our choice today is to have FAIth in the begotten Son of God, and follow in ONE God...ONE Faith.. ONE Baptism

You have gotten all good answers and I'm only adding to what they said:
Jesus was born into the word with the flesh of humans and therefore was "under the Law". He fulfilled (did everything) the Law demanded and therefore overcame the curse which falls on all who cannot fulfill the Law ("none is righteous) ...and thereby wrecked the plan and authority of the devil over those who are in Christ Jesus.
Jn 1:10-13
10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
Jn 3:5-8
5 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."
Gal 4:4-7
4 But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, 5 to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. 6 Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

Those who do not beleive in Christ Jesus remain under the school master of the law. Those who do not beleive in His worthyness that free us from the bondage of sin remain under the law.
Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
However those who are born of the Spirit wait for righteousness that is in Faith.
Gal5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. 1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
By One Faith in Christ we are justified!

Matthew 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
