    2006 tax amendment
    What form do I use to amend my 2006 taxes federal and state because I believe that if you amend your federal taxes you are obligated to then amend your state taxes for the same year

    You use Form 1040X to amend your 2006 federal tax return.

    As to which state form to use, it depends on the state, which you have not identified.
