I am trying to find a title to a move that is either from the 80s or 70s. It has to do with a child who lives alone in the Amazon and who is taken and put into foster care and the child ends up making it back to the Amazon. Can anyone help?

It would help to go into more detail, such as:

Was the "child" a boy or a girl;
Was the child raised by animals of some kind, i.e. apes or wolves;
Do you remember how the child ended up in the jungle alone;
Was it an American, British or Canadian film, or were subtitles used?
Anything else you can remember would help.
