And what is Obama and congress doing? Increasing the size, the debt, the power, the spending of central government. For example, a government health plan? What to supplement the government medicare, medicaid, and VA health system? How is this going to be paid for when Medicare and social security are in the red?

The model that emerged during the late 20th century has turned out to be unsustainable. It was based on a drive for super-profits and hyper-consumption for a few, on unrestrained exploitation of resources and on social and environmental irresponsibility

I guess Obama is our Gorby ? Either that or the heir to the Romanov empire. Actually ;I think they had less tzars than Obama has appointed.


I don't know how anyone else spins it ,but Perestroika was a desperate attempt to reform communism to make it appear more palatable . He never wanted the disolution of the Soviet Union. What is the new model... a kinder gentler communism ? Gimme a break.

The hell they did... their opening up of their economic system to competition soon led way to the new tzarist oligarchs getting an iron grip on the country's economy .
