    Why am I dizzy?
    Hi,
I'm 8weeks pregnant. I'm having dizzy spells. I have never had this with my other 3 pregnancies. I'm dizzy if I'm laying down, sitting up, or standing. I don't like being dizzy. My first obgyn appt is next week. Has anyone ever been dizzy while pregnant?Thank you!

Can be common... sometimes due to a lower blood pressure, a lower blood sugar level, and changes in hormones during pregnancy.

It also can happen, pregnant or not, if you are not drinking enough or if you are limiting your salt intake too much. You might notice it more when you move you turn your head to the side while lying down or when you change positions... especially if you move too fast. Sometimes there can be quite a drop in blood pressure. Make sure you are getting plenty to drink each day and don't cut way back on salt... unless your doctor has instructed you to do so... you usually need a bit more sodium during pregnancy anyway... obviously just don't go over the top with it.

Might be an inner ear issue as well or a touch of vertigo.

Try increasing your fluid intake and see if that makes any difference over the next few days. Also be sure to eat on a regular basis... grazing throughout the day is particuarily good for pregnancy women... if you have had issues with morning sickness this can result in the lower blood sugar levels as well. Of course if it gets worse or doesn't improve give your doctor a call.

Thank you! I don't eat a lot of salt. Not a salt person. I will drink more fluides. I tend to make myself eat when I'm pregnant. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I'm pregnant and I have to eat if not for me for my baby.
