    Panasonic CF-52/ new hard drive
I had a problem with my lap top... I purchased a new hard drive for it. I have a brand new Windows disc to install that I purchased as well. When I put the disc in, it loads a ton of drivers and then gets to a screen that says it can't load the disc.

Is there something that I am missing here?? New hard drive, new operating system, but refuses to load after the windows disc is about 3 or 4 minutes into the process.

    Thanks!

Laptop hardware is highly integrated and often specialized to the laptop model. A stock retail Windows XP disc may not have all of the drivers necessary to properly recognize all of the laptop's components, particularly with newer hardware released since XP was released in 2002. Storage device drivers obtainable from the hardware vendor can be added during the setup process via a floppy disc by pressing F6 when prompted during setup. Other components required to complete setup but for which native XP drivers are lacking can require service pack and driver slipstreaming into an XP image that is then used for setup. This process is outside the scope of this forum.

Additional setup information may be available on Panasonic's website, however it appears access to support resources requires registration of at least one Panasonic product.

Make sure also the hard drive is compatible with that PC and also if the laptop came with SATA drive and new drive is not, see if there is an option in the BIOS to change the hard drive to ATA and try again
