    Job hunting gone bad!
Ironclad needs help finding a job, but I would like advice to if I can get it? I've gotten a job back in July 05 and since then I've had no luck with getting past an interview without even a phone call back?? Is there something I'm missing from job enployers that don't want us to know something?? Quite frankly I find it rude when I have to keep calling them and no phone calls replied, it gets tiresome, and eventually I give up! 4 yrs now and I'm asamed of myself for not being enployed! Does anyone have good advice for me here?? I am trying to get anything at this point in my life to keep me from going down if you know what I mean!!

If you have not worked in 4 years what type of jobs are you looking for.

At this point you do or take any job, How many applications and resumes are you doing a day , calling on possible jobs in person should be a daily task.

    Hi, ironclad04!

Have you tried temp agencies? Also, what sort of skills, training and education do you have, please?

    Thanks!

If you want to be employable I would work on your computer and written communication skills. They are key to many jobs of today.

Definitely have someone review your resume, spelling errors and poor grammar can stop employers from even calling for interviews.

It is currently an employers market and there is stiff competition in all the markets with so many unemployed and so many other under employed. You have a 4 year gap of employment that will be difficult to cover and many employers view that as another screen for someone that they will not interview.

Have you considered furthering your education?

Have you considered starting your own business?

For example, a lawn care service- you make your own hours and your income is based on how hard you work. This is just an example but maybe find something you enjoy and put effort into building it as a business.

Yes, starting your own business would be one thing that I would hope that you might consider. I'm entirely self-employed.

Most of my new business comes from the free ads that I've placed on the Internet. If you would like to know how to place ads effectively so that they get the most exposure when people to searching for things on the Internet, please let me know on this thread.

    Thanks!
