Leaking Galtmaster shower hot water tap
My hot water tap in my shower won't turn off completely. Hot water drips from the faucet. I've tried removing the handle to get to the guts of the hot water tap, but the handle won't come off. It's an older Galtmaster 3 handle faucet (hot, cold and diverter). Does anyone know how to get the handle off to repair this problem? ::confused:

Use a pair of pliers that are big enough to fit over the handle. Now rock the hanlde side to side while pulling out on it. You may want to put a towel over the handle before using pliers so you don't scar the handle. They also make a handle puller.

Thanks mygirlsdad77. It worked. Do you have any suggestions regarding replacement taps for the galtmaster, without having to replace the manifold, as I don't imagine they still make these.

This could be a worn out washer or a bad seat. Turn the water off to the valve and open it up,(see images). Replace the washer and check the seat for nicks or rough spots and if you find any replace the seat as well. If you need farther instructions click on back. Good luck, tom

When I pull the diverter valve up the shower works fine, then I push it down I get a continuous stream of water out of the shower head. If I don't turn the shower on it takes about 2 minutes.
