    Cleaning agents for parvovirus
I have a 7 week old puppy that has been diagnosed with parvovirus. She had accidents on the carpet. My question is what kind of cleaning agents can be used for killing bacteria in carpet? My understanding the virus can live in infected areas.
    Thanks for any response

Bleach is really the only thing that can destroy the virus - it is VERY hardy and can live in the environment for months, if not years.
A 1:10 bleach:water solution is generally effective. I'd steam clean the carpets first, and treat the area several times. Treat everywhere the puppy has been, EVERYWHERE.

    Good luck. How's the puppy?
