    How do I trim corian
    Hi
I am installing a new over the range microwave. Problem is the back splash is made of corian and the new microwave is about 3/16 larger. How can I trim the corian that is fixed to the back wall by that amount? Also need to make a 90 corner since the corian is 36" wide and the microwave only 30"
    Thanks for the help

Use a mini router or Dremel type tool with carbide bit. Set bit to depth required and take it slow.

To assure straight cut, hot glue piece of 1 by on corian for tool to ride against.

    Good luck

Do not be tempted to make a sharp inside corner as that will be a stress riser. That is a place where a crack may start. Allow about a 1/4" radius.

Go slow and take a little off at a time. You can clean up with a sharp chisel. Wear a dust mask and have a shopvac continuously running to mitigate the dust generated.

    I hope this helps

I am in the process of replacing some of the wood trim in my home. Some areas on the sheet rock does not have 2x4 reinforcement to nail to. How would you suggest I install the trim with? It seems that when I use the trim nails they will not hold the wood flush against the sheetrock.
