    (CA) inherited property, LAW QUESTION
here's the situation, my aunt passed and left me 20% of her estate and my sister 80% (she had no children). Her home is valued at 500k. I say, sell the house and split it 20/80. My sister says, she'll buy out my 20% because she wants to keep the house and rent it out. OK. But now she's complaining because she has to refinance (the house has about 40k mortgage) to buy me out. She's thinking that she can't afford to buy me out. She'll have a note of about 800 bucks, and she'll be able to rent it out for at least 1500. But she's being slow with her re-fi process because she's seeing how much money she'll have to pay each month for the re-fi. Plus, she wants me to pay her back for the re-fi, since I own 20% of the house. Does it make sense for me to pay her back money for buying me out of an ihneritance I'm due anyway? https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/newthr...wthread&f=190#
Confused I try to explainthat shareholders in a company don't pay back the company for shares they cash out. Again, I say liquidate it and solve the problem.

I'm wondering what my legal recourses are if she and I can't solve this problem amicably and I have to sue her for my 20% of the estate (I'm not even worried about the car, clothes, and furniture I'm supposed to get 20% of)? I'd hate to sue my own sister, but there is a substantial amount of money were talking about, and I could really use it. Am I legally in the right here?https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/newthr...wthread&f=190#
