    Abdominal pain
So I'm curious, as this happens to me every single time.
Whenever I eat or drink anything, if I lay down, or half lay down afterwards, whether it's immediately or 1/2 an hour or so later, I'm wracked with incredible abdominal pain. The kind that leaves me doubled over, and it usually takes several hours before it goes away. My stomach feels very gurgly and sounds gassy, but it's the incredible pain that bothers me the most.
Does anyone know why this happens?

Chances are it's gas, but you should check with a doctor.

If it is gas, it could come from lots of sources. Does it happen when you don't lie down? When you are active after a meal?

    Sources include:
    • lack of digestive enzymes, which happens as we age. How old are you?
    • food preparation. Do you eat a lot of fried foods?
    • food combinations. Mixing fruit or melon with certain foods will cause gas.
    • specific foods. Do you have any allergies? Some people get gas from grains or slightly rancid cooking oil.
    • nervous eating. Do you gulp down your food, overeat, fail to chew enough?
    • anxiety in general. Would you describe yourself as anxious or nervous?
    • things not mentioned here. That's why you should see a doc.

As a test, you might try an over-the-counter gas remedy. If it helps, pursue the gas theory by simplifying a lot and bringing back one food at a time.

You should be able to fix this pretty quickly.
