I have seen the expression uberhip used in several arts reviews etc. What does it mean and what is its origins?

Using the prefix "über" before any word became a trendy thing to do a few years ago to designate somehting as "the ultimate". More here:

Hip = Fashionable/Tendy
Its just art jargon!
