What is childish about fiction?
I am 23 and one of my favourite books is Lord of the Rings and that is no only fiction, it is fantasy too...
Read what you like, not what your friends say is OK...
If you want to read a kids picture book called "Bunnies go to the fair" then that is your choice.
Check out your local library or book store and have a look, there are age appropriate sections.

What age teen? Some of the biggest books for teens now are the crossover novels like Harry Potter and Twilight that are being read by adults as well. I'm very fond of Diana Wynne Jones books. For girls, Jackie Wilson is a firm favourite, also Meg Cabot.

I'm 42 and read fantasy fiction. I pick up a biography here and there, but almost always want something unusal to occupy my mind.
If you like dragons and stories like that try Anne McCaffrey or Mercedes Lackey.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with reading Fiction Books. Fiction Books are the best ones of all!! I would say the best books for teens right now is the Twilight Series. Its Vampire Fiction. Its really awesome and I've read all four of them in less than a month!

I still love fiction. I enjoy some true stories. I love books like The Other Boleyn Girl. A little bit of fact with a whole lot of fiction. :)

I'm 37 and just finished the whole series of harry potter...
Read want you want to read.. it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks,if you enjoy, fact or fiction,it can only serve to enhance your imagination. and you never know when something to learn in a book comes up in conversation.
Go for it... read.
I was reared in a house full of books, and my own is the same...

I live in some stupid neighborhood in NJ... filled with latinas... n latinos (I'm not one)
I'm not a racist or anything, but these latinas/latinos are giving me a bad thinking style of all of them. I never think 100% of them are stupid... but ugh! There are like these ghetto blacks here too, well...
