    What should I do
I live in Illinois and arrow financial collection services was at my door today trying to serve me a summons which I closed the door on the mans face. Here's my dilemma, they are trying to collect a debt which has been charged off by gemb/home designs. I read about reporting to court and all that but here's my problem. My husband and I are buying a house jointly. He is disabled and I have no real income, I don't work and he's unable to help with these creditors. Can they put a lien against our home? Can they try to garnish his va or ssa check? Should I sign a quitclaim deed? Also, I'm about to default on a us bank credit card, $14,810 and our mortgage company is us bank mortgage.. don't know what to do, any answer will help.. thank you very much..

You need to find out what date the court summon is and GO.
If the show up and you do not anything can happen and the Judge will rule in their favor. Then they can put a lien on your home or your bank account, garnish money, whatever.

If you go to the court date and present your side then it can go some what more favorable to you and they can make a payment arrangement.

Most everybody I know that went to the court date either the charges were dropped to principle only or the case was closed.

It is more to your disadvantage to not go.
