    2007 Ford Fusion No Power
Today my 07 Fusion just stopped working. It has 82K miles on it. There is no power to any systems at all except for an odd ticking sound you can hear from inside the car without the key being in the ignition. We tried charging the battery to see if that was the problem, checked all the connections on the battery and they were fine. I thought it night be the ignition module however I can not find anything related to that. I'm wondering if I should have the starter checked next. Any ideas?

. Ensure battery is fully charged, by placing it on a charger. Make sure the ampere meter cuts back to around 1 amp.

. Test all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter:

There may also be a Mega Fuse, located on the end of the under hood fuse/relay box. It's located between the alternator and the battery.

. Read, if the starter motor still doesn't work:

    . Check for codes.

. Ensure the ignition switch is good. If the dash lights don't come on, the ignition switch should be checked for wear, pitting, or melting.

. Test for fuel. Do you hear the fuel pump in the gas tank run, when the ignition switch is turned to ON? If not, remove, clean, and test that fuse. Its location can be found in your Owner's Manual. Similarly, check that the fuel pump relay in the under hood fuse/relay box is working.

After you solve the immediate problem, be sure to change the transmission fluid and filter every 30,000 miles, preferably with Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF. Also, change the platinum spark plugs (Motorcraft only) at least every 50,000 miles.
