    Adding spouse to title
    I want to add my spouse to title. What does that mean in terms of taxes. He always have to pay back in taxes. Will this help him in anyway. We are not married yet.
    I am thinking title means that he can claim taxes but can we split claims since my name will still be on the mortgage.

    First you are not married yet, so wait and get married, he is not your spouse yet.

    And split what claims, the mortgage deduction or the property taxes. Unless you refi to add him on the mortgage the interest is still in just your name.

    Also your mortgage company may not allow him to be added without a refi to add him to the mortgage.
