    Zoloft while pregnant
I was given a rx for zoloft 50mg 1 po daily to help ease my anxiety I haven't started taking it yet because I'm worried it will harm my baby. I'm 11 weeks pregnant and I've heard both good/bad stories about taking it. I know it's a cat. Be drug but it still worries me. I have not had any issues with anxiety yet but I can fill that I get a little worked up but talk myself out of it I'm just worried that if I do not get on it I may do more harm than good? Any help out there would be nice

If it is a Category B drug it will do more good than harm. However, I hesitate you taking it before week 13 of your pregnancy. Have you discussed this with your doctor?

jet79- I called his office and this is what they gave me. I have a hx of SVT and underwent the cardiac oblation in 1998 so they ( my dr's ) do not want my heart rate to get to wacky. I will hold off on taking it until after my next appointment with him thank you for helping me

So you are taking zoloft for svt rather than anxiety, right?

No I haven't had an SVT attack since I had the surgery in 98. But I have had anxiety attacks since then and was on medication but then I stopped taking it when I found out I was pregnant. I can feel that sometimes I have a hard time catching my breath or taking a deep breath and panic sets in because I do not want to have an anxiety attack while I'm pregnant. I know it's confusing

It's not so confusing, I deal with pregnant women every night at work. LOL

Are you still seeing your cardiologist now that you are pregnant?

Did your OB prescribe the zoloft?

I haven't seen my cardiologist in years. He released me because I haven't had any trouble but if I for some reason starting having svt attacks again then I would she him.
My OB did write the rx for the medication I know he knows what he is doing but this being my 1st pregnancy I'm a little worry wart.:)
