    Bathtub install
We recently pruchased a used jacuzzi tub. I bought new plumbing for the drain and overflow. I am installing this in our basement but I am a little confused. I have a 4" pipe sticking out of the floor about 3" or so. Inside this pipe is the 1 1/2" drain. With the drain on the tub being flat to the floor right now, how do I do this? Do I need to cut the cement away or can I elevate the tub with a platform?

Sounds like the 4" pipe is a sleave for the 1 1/2" drain. Yes you will have to break out enough concrete for tub shoe and trap.

The house builder actually installed the p-trap and poured the cement in already. I just have to hook it up now. Can I use 2x8's for a frame to sit the tub on?
