Thank you Alty, finally someone that gets me!
On days when my son is especially whiny and he sings "Mom" incessantly, I tell him I'm going to change my name! Of course he has no idea what I'm talking about so it doesn't stop him.

You'll make someone a good husband one day Bear.
Just nod and say "yes dear" that's the secret to a happy marriage.
Sadly my hubby hasn't figured that out yet. :(
Oh, by the way, I would really like to send both my kids to boot camp right now. If I didn't have AMHD I'd probably snap.
My hubby bought me a new coffee table last year, I've had my eyes on it for a long time, absolutely love this table, so hubby picked it up for my birthday.
It's in the family room downstairs, right in front of our pull out couch. Well, last weekend Jared asked if he could sleep in the family room, sort of like a camp out. Sure, no problem. I moved the table to the corner.
Well, I got busy, didn't feel like putting the couch back together, moving the table back, etc. etc. so I'm doing it today.
Well, someone (Jared or Sydney) spilled some kind of sugary drink all over my table. The table has two 12inch glass pieces on it, the glass was stuck to the table, I had to bang under it to get it loose. The finish on the table is ruined and a piece of the wood was stuck to one of the glass pieces. In other words, my table is ruined. Also, to add insult to injury, food and drinks are not allowed downstairs. Ya, major trouble!
You'd be proud, I counted to 1 million before I told the kids to get their dirty little arses downstairs. I handed them windex and towels and said get to work, we'll talk when you're done. Jared started to protest, but I just gave him a look and said "Do you really think it's wise to back talk me right now?" I guess the look was pretty scary because he shut right up and started cleaning the table.
After they were done I told them that this summer wasn't going to be a heck of a lot of fun. They will be working their little butts off for me. If I say jump, they better be asking how high. They will be working off the price of the table.
I'm really mad. Grrr.
Sorry for the long vent.

Yes you may need a drink or 3 after the table fiasco.
Last week my son chipped the glass in my coffee table. He's 2!! He was playing with a marble (you know the decorative stones/marbles that you put in vases). So he managed to hit the table 'just right' and chipped the glass.
Ya, I was a little steamed. The fact that he's 2 saved his life. But of course that's all I see when I look at the table now.

That's awful.I would be furious too! I think the working off the price of the table is an excellent idea and one careless act they won't soon forget !

I resigned myself when my kids were young that I was never going to have anything nice until they were grown.
They are 28 and 22 and still horse around like kids.
Yes,four is just fine for a beer break,but only on week-ends :)

I didn't really do it, but boy did I think about it.
Um, Bear, the kids don't stink! ;)
It's dog shaving week. Yup, they get a buzz cut for the summer, going to do a bit today. It takes a few days because they have really thick coats and the clippers get overheated so I have to let it sit and cool down.
Indy's first. Poor pup. ;)
