    Puppy lost his mojo
I am a proud owner of a almost 10wk old Maltipoo (Maltese Poodle). I've had him for six days and he has been just the cutest and most loving and fun puppy ever. The problem started yesterday. He seemed just as happy and upbeat as he had been since we brought him home, however he seemed to be sleeping slightly more than he had been. I didn't think anything of it.

We're still potty training him so I wasn't surprised to find an accident when I came to get him the next morning. I found a small pile of his feces that was normal, I found another that was very soft and had no form. His attitude had changed as well. He seemed to just want to lay down and sleep and had no interest in eating or drinking.

He spent all of today sleeping and continued not to eat or drink. His diarrhea also became half soft and half liquid like. Later in the evening, after waking him up he seemed to find his spark. He wanted to play and was even running around a bit. I was surprised to find that he even ate and drank. He continued to be playful in the evening and even drank more. He has had two more bowel movements since and it continues to run on the liquid side with some soft feces as well. His temperament has improved but I'm worried about the loose stools.

He has had the following shots: Canine Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus Vaccine. He had a fecal exam before we got him and it was recorded as negative. Something in his records was written under "wormer given", the hand writing is somewhat illegible but I think it says "Drontal Plug Puppy". He has been eating dry Eukanuba Small Breed Puppy formula, this is what he was being fed by the breeder so there is no change in diet.

I've covered everything I can think of. I would appreciate any feedback available. Thank you!

You really need to take him to your vet for more tests.

While puppie seemingly get diarreah for no reason sometimes, more than 2 consecutive days of it can be very dangerous as they can become very dehydrated.

Make sure he is drinking PLENTY of fluids... buy some puppy milk ad put a splash of it in with his water to encourage him to drink more.

    Do a dehydration test:
Pinch the skin in the back of his neck and pull it up... if it springs back straight away and goes flat, he is not dehydrated...
If the skin does not go back straight away and stays pulled up... he has dehydration problems.

Finally, I know it's mean but I have to say it... There is no such thing as a multipoo, I hope you didn't pay more than $50 for your crossbred.
