    Dear Sir's!
I have a unique problem at my house, my wife’s brother is living with us after going through rehab. We agreed to help him out until he got back on his feet. He has been here for a year and a half and is doing very well. He now has a job and it will take him a while to get caught up with his debt. The real problem that I have is with his ex-wife, she has continued to just drop off the children here every time she can’t handle the trouble they get into. The problem we, my wife and I have with this is, she doesn’t call to ask if it is OK she just dumps them at the door step. What I would like to know is there any thing that could be done about this, she doesn’t even know if we are home. I’m getting tired of all this drama in her life and at sixty four I’m not ready to take on a whole new family nor can I afford it. I’m disabled and so is my wife and it is all too much for us to handle.

Does your son have a court ordered custody/visitation order?

If not maybe your son and you should go to family court and get one and tell her that you are following it. Have it in the order that she is to ASK 24 to 48 hours prior for any other times.

How old are the children? If they are old enough to sit on the doorstep for a short period, call children's services anonymously and report abandoned children. I would then try to sneak out the house, (maybe you can stay with a neighbor so you can watch them) unitl the police get there. If their mother is just leaving them on the doorstep without checking to see if you are home, she could be charged with abandonment.
