If you talked with them and have a written agreement that they will accept this, no problem, if you merely picked a figure out of the air and started sending it, maybe, maybe not, It also may depend on how much you owe, if you owe 1000 dollars most likely OK if you owe 100,000 dollars you most likely are still in trouble

Fr Chuck's point is most pertinent. The amount being paid must be sufficient to eventually retire the debt.

$75 per month WILL eventually retire a $1,000 tax debt, while it would not even begin to service the interest (much less the principal) of a $100,000 tax debt.

You DO need to pay federal and state INCOME taxes on income earned inside of the United States. File the state tax return and Forms 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ AND Form 8843 with the IRS.

As a F-1 student (in the U.S. for LESS than FIVE years), you are exempt from Social Security and Medicare taxes.

That exemption expires beginning on January 1st of the SIXTH calendar year in the U.S. UNLESS you can show a "closer connection" to your home country when you file Form 8843. The burden of proof for showing this closer connection RESTS WITH YOU, and it IS a hard sell to the IRS.
