    I do have a job
I have recently printed out a credit report. The first thing I noticed was it still has me as self-employed. Which I used to be years ago when I was a stay at home mom. For the past two years, I have been at the same full time job.

How do I change that? And will it even help my credit if I do?

Secondly, I do have some outstanding balances. Should I pay them? Will paying them help my credit at all or is it waaay too late? How can I be sure that the creditors let the credit bureau know that I have paid what is owed?

How old are the outstanding balances, if they are past the SOL and old enough they will fall off in a year or two, it may be best to just wait and let them far.

If you want to pay on them, you need to work a deal in writing for them to be reported as paid
