I remember being a happy single person, but now I'm happy in a relationship.
I think your list is a reminder that people need to find happiness outside of a relationship.

Most of all, my list is a reminder that you need to take responsibility for your own happiness... it isn't the job of someone else to make you happy, and that's the most important part of learning to cope with a devastating break up (in my opinion... ).

Another Joy: Recently HBO released a new show, "Eastbound and Down." For those of you who think Family Guy is funny, you would LOVE this. Renewed my sense of faith in HBO after the Sopranos left. At any rate, I KNOW my ex would have thrown a hissy fit every time I tried to watch this new show. "Oh My God...I can't believe you like this stuff..."

So walking around naked when you have kids is a bad thing? Crap!
I'm never going to get the mother of the year award. :(

Wow... I love this thread. Totally stopped me from msging my ex.
Joy of being single:
; No need to worry who's going to msg/call you or she'll be giving you the "better act up" look.
; No need to check the phone many times when you're out or if you miss a call, it's a "WHO YOU WITH?"
; You can sleep whenever you want without feeling guilty or she'll be like "WHY ARE YOU SLEEPING?"
; Don't need to hear her talk about her weight and body image.
; You can drool over models or any hot chick that walks past.
; You don't need to watch your steps or what you're saying. Definitely less worries.
; You can flirt without feeling like you've stabbed someone.
; No more hair strands left in the bathroom.
; No more "I must have my liquid soap to wash my body."
; You won't be compared to her exs by her group of friends.
; You don't need to wake up, feeling like it's another challenge.
; No need to balance your day out.
; No listening to her complaining about people.
; Don't need to keep count of alcohol I've drank. "You better stop. How many is that?"
; You can't talk about pornhub.com without her saying "OMG. Are you serious? *rolls eyes*".
; You can stay out late without "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? WHAT DID YOU DO?".

No more having to constantly make sure that she is OK and that the relationship is okay. O and looking at a hot girl or meeting a really cool girl and feeling like you've settled for something less with your current girlfriend.

WOW peruvianblaze you should never be thinking about whether another girl is prettier then your girl! There is always someone prettier or nicer out there but if we thought that way we would always be skipping from girl to girl or man to man. You know what you have but you DON'T know what your going to get. It is all about how you feel on the:rolleyes: inside about the person. If your always thinking about whether you have settled for less then you should not be wasting any one's time.

There must have been something good about your ex or you wouldn't have been with her. As our relationships get to a stand still and we don't do anything to improve it we always look at all the negatives and forget about the positives.:o

My opinion on this is-- No life without wife. So get marry as soon as possible. With your life partner you are leading a dull life.

You get to own your own wallet, and everything in it, not just carry it around, until she asks for it.
(those were the good old days)

No more telling my friends "I have to see what I'm doing" before committing to hanging out with them.
No more dinner with his family (good and bad - good because his mom is a sucky cooker and is all healthy bad because they were funny)
No more him farting in my car and rolling down the window.
If I want to go somewhere on a whim I can just jump in my car and go.
If I'm hungry and I want to go out to dinner, I can go out with anyone and don't have to feel weird about it.
I also no longer have to pay for his dinner since he was broke most of the time.
I can go out and drink coffee with out him complaining that I taste like coffee.
No more being upset at night because he forgot we made plans and then just never showed up but went to his friends house to hang out instead.
No more watching golf on TV!
I can go to the gym any time I want because I don't have to make plans with him.
I don't have to go over there when he is sick any more and take care of him - I don't have to get sick anymore!!
I don't have to worry that I'll be stuck in DE all my life in suburbia because he never wants to leave here and he hates cities.
No more buying him expensive presents - I can spend the money on me.
I can make vacation plans to places I want to go vs settling for some place that he can afford (sucks to make more $ than your BF).
I actually get stuff done on the weekends vs sleeping in and wasting the day away.
Guys now take me to see baseball games vs me taking him.
If I want to go to baltimore or philly or the beach at 1130PM I can - no more "you're gonna drive where now? its late"
I can now find a guy that actually likes to cuddle at night if I want to.
I can change my plans at the spur of the moment - no problem.
I get invited to be people's dates to wedding when they don't have a date already = FREE FOOD AND DRINKS!
I can go away on trips for work for 10 days with out feelig like I'm abandonning someone.
I can meet hot guys on my trips for work with out feeling like I'm doing something wrong.
