    Statue of limitations
Can the state of Texas still prosecute you after 10 years if you escaped from custody during a routine traffic stop in the officer´s vehicle (while handcuffed)and while the officer attempts to stop you he is injured by the motor vehicle and requires hospitalization? The felonies would be unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (police vehicle) and causing bodily injury to a public servant. The police vehicle was recovered immediately about 2 miles away from the incident and the police officer recovered quickly and was released from the hospital the next day. And lastly, would being a convicted felon who was deported to Mexico and for the fact that he came back to the U.S. after he was deported and committed this crime worsen his case. For example, lengthen the statue of limitations in which he could be prosecuted even though he no longer resides or is in the U.S.

The statute of limitations limits the time the police have to file charges. But, once charges are filed and a warrant is issued, the statute of limitations no longer applies, and the warrant never expires.

I don't know if going back and forth to Mexico would worsen his punishment...
