Why isn't my boyfriend affectionate after 2 years?
My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years and I notice how he is not expressing how he feels about me physically. At first he couldn't keep his hands off me. He would tell me things that would make my heart beat a million times, but now he is working and just spending a few hours with me and all his weekend at home or with his friends. He only wants to have sex when he wants to instead of when I do. We have broken up so many times. He hardly touches me anymore or kisses me. We have a son together he is a year old. Help me solve this please.

Talk to him and express your feelings/concerns to him. Communication is the key so communicate, communicate.

Also, the two of you have a child together so regardless if your together or apart the two of you have to get along for the sake of child. At least for the next 18 years.

Being off and on again isn't healthy and these types of relationships rarely works.

He may feel pressured by this situation. If you were only together for two years, and the kid is already a year old, that means you were only together for three months when you became pregnant. That is not nearly enough time to figure out if you want to spend the rest of your life with someone!

There's no point focusing on the past though. Liz is right, you need to make an effort to make things work for the sake of the kid; however, you also need to realize that forcing something will actually make things worse for everyone. If you can't make it work, accept it and try to keep each other in your lives somehow. Maybe it's not the romantic Hollywood ending, but at least the kid won't grow up in a house of fake promises and empty emotions.

Backstory: I avoided getting involved with him specifically for this reason. I told him up front that I'm very independent. I always have been, yet I have been in two separate serious relationships (2.5 yrs, 4 yrs). He is a very emotionally needy person, and is now suggesting he go to...
