    Fathers rights
My son is 18 and has a 6 months old baby. He and the baby's mom (20yrs old) are no longer dating. She has steadily refused to let my son see his baby unless he agrees to date her again. She has gone so far as to threaten to put the baby up for adoption or abandon the baby at a hospital so that he can not see him. My son has tried many times through text messages (she refuses to talk to him on the phone) to let her know that he wants to spend time with his son. We are trying to resolve this peacefully. In the state of PA, what is our next step? Please help

The step you should have done 6 months ago, you get a court ordered custody, you get either joint custody or visits ordered by the court.

So if she does not let your son see the child you take her back to court for contempt.

There is no "working things" out, if it is not done though the court it can't be enforced anything

To add to what Chuck said, she cannot put the baby up for adoption without his consent, but to ensure this, read the sticky on the putative father registry. As for abandoning the child at the hospital... that is one way to ensure that she doesn't ruin this child's life with her petty games... cause that will 100% guarnetee that she doesn't get custody ever again.

But like Chuck said - take her to court. ASAP. And stop playing her silly stupid games.

You don't say if your son is listed on the birth certificate. If he is not then he has no rights until paternity is established. And, as Chuck said, this should have been done when the baby was born.
