    Shower leak
I just brought a brand new home a few months ago. I noticed that the INSIDE corner connection of the shower and wall were always getting wet after 10 minutes of taking shower. The shower door is closed properly and the outside floor is dry. I don't know where is the water from.

The following is my observation: the water appearance at the right front corner of the shower was directly related to the shower being used. When I did not use the shower the area started to dry. Running the shower caused the water to reappear.I know the builder did not want to cut into the wall but he did take the right action in cutting the hole to identify the water source. It was pretty obvious that water is getting behind the tile and getting trapped in the annulus area formed by the bottom edge of the tile and the shower pan. The fact that the water is trapped in this area is testimony to the good sealing job someone did between the bottom edge of the tile and the shower pan.

My builder used a rubberized material to seal the area where water is currently running off the shower pan and onto the floor. But there is still a leaking water coming out from the same corner. My question is: How is the water getting in the annulus in the first place? Where the prossible leak is?

Please help me. I appreicate your answer...

    Hi leak

Is the leak on same wall as shower head?
If so, remove shower head and cap pipe that held head. Turn on water. If u hear water running, there is a problem with pipe coming from valve body to shower head. Rither cracked pipe or bad solder joint.

Let us know how this works for u.

    Good luck

Answer Chuck and I have one of my own. If the leak isn't on the same wall as the shower valve and head is it on the same area the shower stream hits when you're showering? Back to you, tom
