    Geiger tube count measurement(range of alpha particles)
    6.There is an error in the experimental procedure in that is assumed that each particle is detected at the Geiger tube window. In actual fact, each particle could be detected anywhere throughout the length of the Geiger tube. The position would probably be different for each particle. Explain how this would affect your results and hence your conclusion.

    I don't get what the question is talking about.:confused::confused:

    The length that the alpha particle travels in the tube should be added (maybe with some weighting) onto the total length it's travelled in air, as the tube is filled with a gas.

    This gives you an error in the result, as the particle could be detected anywhere from the front to the back of the device.
