This guy and I liked each other for about a month. In the beginning he was chasing after me asking all his friends and my friends about me and telling them that he liked me. Everything was going good until I went away for a week. I came back and he was still talking to me but not as much. After being home a week things started getting better. Then he talked to my ex about me and my ex made up rumors about me that aren't true. Ever since then he hasn't talked to me and he's telling people that he doesn't like me anymore. He knows the rumors aren't true now but how can he just stop having feelings for me over night? I really want to know how I can make him realize how stupid he is for listening to my ex and get him to like me again

Well, if he wasn't willing to form his own opinions of you by coming to you directly and talking to you, then he probably isn't at a point where he can have a healthy relationship with anyone.

If he really cared about you, he would ask for your side of the story, and trust what you said. But the fact that he's letting other people form opinions for him shows that he is not very confident in himself.

I'd say, you can do better. Don't try to get the guy back; if he wants to come to you, he'll do it on his own time. And if he sees that you are getting on with your own life and that you're confident in yourself, it will make you that much more attractive to him.

Don't just leap in if he gives you a chance though. Make sure he knows for sure that he wants YOU, and not just any girl out there.
