Where Is a Free, Safe Site That You Might Recommend for Storing Files Online?
    Hi!

I would like to be able to share some sound files of music that I've written with people on this site. I know that this site has some limitations as far as what can be attached to posts. Is there a safe site where sound files might be located and stored so that others could go to it to hear the files?

I already know about making websites because I have them, but am looking just for a general site that might be used for the storing of files of various types.

    Thanks!

Okay. No one has yet responded to my question and I'm sure that there are people here who know about this sort of thing.

So, I thought that I would respond to my own question in order to place it more to the top of the list of active questions.

I really would like to know about the safe sites, please?

    Thanks!

    Thanks for responding, artlady!

Is that a site where people can store just WAV or MP3 sound files?

    Thanks!

I went back to the site to get the info you asked about and I didn't like one thing I saw there. With a free account your file will be deleted after 21 days.

I will keep looking as I enjoy research.

I found this site that sounds pretty good and your files stay on forever provided you access your account before 30 days have expired.

They do accept your file requirements and they have some added features that you don't find with other storage sites.Like a way to advertise your work.

    You can't beat the price!

Hmm, I've used Xdrive before and it was free but again only for a few weeks. My wife was on vacation and hadn't unloaded her 2 gig memory card for the camera so she made an account, uploaded the 2 gigs and I re-downloded them at home that same day.

Xrive has been renamed elephant drive, I haven't used it since it was renamed but it was very fast. It was free for something like 3 weeks and then was $4 per month to keep it active. I looked around and never found a 100% free online storage site but some sites will let you use it for a few weeks before they ask for a credit card number. Other sites will offer 30 days free if you pay for a few months in advance or give a credit card (which they PROMISE to not charge until you forget to cancel). Xdrive did not ask for a credit card at the time of signup.

    Hi, again!

I want you to know, that I was finally able to store a sound file online and put a link to it on a thread. I used a site in that list of sites to which you provided the link, artlady. I'll still be checking out the other links that were provided and any others that might still be provided.

I'm really tickled about that! Now, people can actually hear the music that I write, the way that I've written it! :)

    Cool!! :D
