I have a document that I need to scan into my computer then using MS Word be able to fill out the form and print the form that has been filled out. How do I go about doing that?:)

Do you have a scanner? Follow the directions for creating a copy that you will print, then print it, and fill it out. You may not be able to fill it out before it has been printed.

This requires OCR software. Did any come with your scanner?

I will typically scan to PDF using my scanner software or TWAIN in the full version of Acrobat.

I can then fill in using the typewriter tool which is a real PITA but it works.

For forms I fill out routinely, I invest the time creating form fields in Acrobat.

I know it's the hard way.

The Lazy way would be to make a copy for spare, then fill out by hand, Done.
The right way has been mentioned above.

I just reread this and somehow I missed that this was a form being scanned. Frankly, if you try to scan a form into into Word, even with OCR software, the form will likely become jumbled and misaligned.

I would recommend one of two pieces of software. You can use OnmiForm which scan forms into a fillable format. But it is a bit pricey unless you need to do this frequently

The other package is Paperport (both are from Nuance). Paperport is actually one of my favorite programs. It works in conjunction with your scanner to create a digital filing system. Anything can be placed in a Paperport folder whether its scanned or not and Paperport will index itmes for easiy retrieval. But the applicable piece here is the FormType utility. Just scan a form as a Paperport MAX document, then drag it onto the FormType icon and it creates a fillable form. It will automatic detect and create the fillable fields, but you can move them or create your own. I have a postal form that I need to complete motnhly and FormType works great with that.

But Paperport is so much more so it's a tool I highly recommend to anyone with a scanner.
