Bleach leaked through the floor into basement
I had a gallon bottle of bleach under my kitchen sink and somehow it leaked a full gallon of bleach into the basement right into the washer ruining a load of colored clothes. It is still dripping bleach from the basement ceiling. The cabinet the bleach was in has been cleaned and the neighborign cabinets are dry. I am assuming the bleach went under the neighboring cabinet and is leaking through the floor there (thats what it looks like from the basement) The cabinets have a bottom shelf that does not remove. Do I need to pull the bottom of cabinet shelf out (will probably ruin the cabinet) and try to dry up whatever bleach is left? Should I put a fan on it? Is the bleach going to damage the wood truss in the basement that it is leaking through? I thoguth about running water through but think that would do more damage and the house electrical box is right next to washer where the leak is . Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The bleach will not damage the wood. It will probably leave a stain but will not damage it. It you can tolerate the odor just leave it to dry.

    Hi BM

I agree with hkstroud. Let the bleach dry on its own.

A fan will help dissipate the bleach smell.

    Good luck
