    Do I have a right being an illigitimate and not using his surname?
    I am 39 years old married with 2 kids. My question is do I have any rights on my father even though I am not using his surname I was born when he was still young with no family yet. When he got married he decided not to tell his wife about me. Until now his family doesn't know that I am existed. My mother did not gave me his surname. Now he is a mayor in camarines sur I need some help financially. But his not giving me. Can I get support from him? Do I have some rights as his daughter though I'm not using his surname?

    No, you have no right at this point, you mother may have had rights before you became a adult.

    When he dies, you may have some claim to a share of his estate but till then, nothing.

    I guess the first thing to ask is, Has paternity ever been established? Secondly, was there ever a support order in effect obligated him to assist your mother financially?
