My shower does not provide water that is hot. The water is lukewarm to mildly hot at best. The sink provides very hot water. Is there a problem with the mixer/controls and how do I go about remedying this?

Sounds like you have some crud or mineral buildup blocking the inlet ports or the seats of your shower valve. To be more specific and address a repair I'll need the brand name of the valve, (a model number would be nice) The type of valve, one handle or two knobs and how old it is. I'll wait on your reply.
