Can he claim
Hi all,
I hope you can help me with this problem,
I reversed into a motorbike and caused about 700 in damage! The guy who was hit was parked in the middle of a small road leading to a dead end, I was parked at the dead end and reversed out.
He was in my blind spot and so couldn't see him, he was sat on his bike with his helmet off and did nothing.
Is this his fault??
I then agreed to be kind that I would give him 500 hundred pound cash to keep it away from my insurance, I since ave lost my job and as a result I have lost my insurance and cannot give him anything.
Can he claim against me??
He has now decided to get the police involved, I have no contact as of yet but
Can the police do anything??
If you can help I would be very appreciative as I am getting very worried

For one: you are admitting fault. Also the fact that you reversed without checking your blind spots doesn't do much for your case. Now add that to the fact that you admitted to him that it was your fault and offered to pay damages.
Sorry that you've lost your job but that does not negate your responsibility to him for repairs and/or injuries sustained.
Check with your insurance company, they may pay the damages if you had insurance at the time of the accident. The fact is he has a right to file a claim against you; there's no rule saying that he has to agree to work with you in circumventing an insurance claim.
If he is willing to work with you on repairs, he also has a right to have the repairs done reasonably quickly so you will either have to produce the money or turn it over to your insurance carrier (and hope they handle it).
Otherwise he can take you to court and sue for repairs or medical care.

I haven't necceserally admitted it was my responsibility, what I did say is that I would meet him half way as his quote change 5 times from 300 to 550 to 749, 1100 and then 1600. In an essance I have said it was both our faults and il meet you half way.
Will he have to prove that I did the damage?
And could I claim that he intentionally waited for me to hit him and added stupid amounts of damage that was not done by me. He doesn't have my insurance deatails or my address and so I don't know where leaves me? My car will be sold in a week as well so the damage done my vehicle will not be seen. Can I hide??

If he gets a judgment against you, it stays active for 20 years (10 years with renewal to 20) so unless you never plan on having anything ever again, he can find you.
