    Prime motive ?
What was the prime motive when you decided on your chosen career ?

Did you wear many hats during your working life?

Are the different hats inter connected ?

    Hi again, ROLCAM!

I've worn many "hats" in my various careers and most of what I've done for careers has been related to each other.

    What about you?

    Thanks!

Yes, I have worn quite a number of hats during my working
Career. Really too many to enumerate and list in detail.
I gained a lot and tried to reinvest back and give to others.
There is also a definite thread in the hats I wore.

    Just a short list.

    Accounting/Economist (60 years i.e 18 to 78)
    Life Insurance 1950-1984
Teaching Financial Management in 5 Colleges.for nine years
Authoring an Integrated Accounting Software started in 1984.
Registered Public External Auditor and also Internal Auditing.

I am interested in why you asked the original questions on this thread, if you wouldn't mind elaborating on the some?

    Thanks!

    Recently, yesterday , I
Received a telephone call from an unknown person.
He introduced himself and said I am a good friend of TONY , Tony is an architect friend of mine.
I agreed to meet the new man for coffee
And that he was going to bring his female
Partner who has a new flair for the Foreign
    Exchange business.
I started by summarizing quickly my last
    Sixty years.
This was an enormous task to do in 15 minutes.
What came out of the whole meeting was
    Very interesting.
Choosing a career in FOREX is not as easy
As one would imagine.NOT for the light hearted.
The word BUDGETING became very prevalent.
    The word PRE-DETERMINATION was used
    Very often.
The word RISK finished up as the word for the day.
We finished talking and she realised that
There is a lot more to it than sitting down
    And start trading.
It needs dedication and one needs to have
A very strong motive to embark on this career.

But, are those truly the reasons that you started this thread? It seems like a general thread, and not related to any one, certain career.

    Thanks!

YES, it made me realise the shortage of
    Career advisors.
It also made me feel that , if I had all the time over again, I would personally take that path.

Over the years as an Operations Manager
Of an AMERICAN LIFE COMPANY in Sydney,
(SENTRY LIFE) I had as many as 250 people
    People working under my direction.
I did help with the direction of career paths,
But that was not my prime objective.

So, what might be your prime motive for doing what you do now in your career?

    Thanks!
