    Why is she doing this?
My friend has like started copying me all the time. I started listenign to bands like slipknot so she starts listening to them. I self harmed for a while because of various reaons and somehow she found out and started it to for no reason at all! So she has started to try and become 'emo' bcause apparently loads of people say I'm 'emo' now she has even copied the way I am typing on msn, what do I do?

First of all. Why are you self harming? You should seek help for that.

Second of all--- you should confront your friend about this. It's the only way to get your friend to stop. After confronting her--distance yourself.

I've had copycat friends.. to the point it was creepy. I told them and said:

"I noticed that you've been copying me. [Say example here]. I liked you for who you are, and now that you've been trying to be like me it's made me uncomfortable. Please stop."

They'll usually become defensive and maybe even curse you out.

If someone copies you then they really don't have a mind of their own, and that is well boring. It's not really a friend.. more like a fan.

    Just my opinion.

    There is an old expression:
Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

Maybe she likes you and is trying to get your attention?

You could try to say something slightly offensive but joking... like mention how you saw an 'emo' girl in town and she looked silly.

On the other hand she might genuinely like the style and you have shown it to her.

Well I have always heard a way to get someone to like you is to mirror there actions. She might just be trying to get your attention to be your friend. Give her a chance and maybe you will mirror her style! You don't know.

Emo, haha, emo guys are fruity, yup, but emo girls, are extremley hot, chyah
But uuuh, don't go cutting yourself, not healthy, because first, it hurts for a reason, its your body telling you,"hey, uuuh, that aint much of a good idea ther" and second, not very cute having scars all over your arms, most guys don't like that
As for your friend, who knows, maybes she's insecure, just tell her you don't like her copying you, its not hard

She copies you because she wants to be like you. Ever saw the movie "Single White Female?". The same thing happen to the female in the movie.

This dangerous for her because it means she can't find her own idenity so she is copying yours even the dangerous cutting yourself.

If I was you I would spray paint my hair green and see if she follows. You can always voice your concerns to her. It might make a differences or it might not. Anyway, I know it is frustrating and it upsets you but in the end she doesn't run the show. Keep living and maybe oneday she will stop and start copying someone else.

Also, I hope your harming yourself anymore and whenever you feel like you will call 1-800-999-9999 or 1-800-273-talk and talk out your problems. All calls are confidential and the lines are open 24/7 or talk to a trusted adult but don't harm yourself. Hopefully your in the US because those are US numbers.
